Author Kara Kendrick is standing out!
Last Chapter Press is so excited to announce our next Stand Out Story Award Winner-- Kara Kendrick. Kara's been a LCP author from the very beginning in our flagship multi-author series Snowflakes & Holidates in 2022. And she's appeared in Valentines & Holidates and the most recent All the Jingle Ladies series, "Snowed in with the Scrooge"-- and that's the story that has earned her this amazing accolade.
We sat down with Kara (well, by email) and asked her some questions that we want to know and we're happy to share all the details.
1. How’d you get into writing? I was an English Lit major in college and have always enjoyed writing.
2. What do you like to read and why? I love to read all kinds of books, but especially fiction with strong romantic elements. I love beach reads as well as mysteries and thrillers.
3. Three things about you that no one knows. This is a hard one! One, I don't like shopping. In person or online. Two, I have a jar of sharks teeth in my house with a secret goal to fill it, but it's literally never going to happen because it's HUGE. Three, sunrise is my favorite time of the day. 4. Where do you see your writing in ten years? Hopefully, on a bunch of bestseller lists!
5. If you could choose one song to play every time you walked into a room, what would you choose and why? Probably anything by Taylor Swift
6. What’s your go-to drink? Coffee? Tea? The hard stuff? Iced coffee
7. What about writing do you find the hardest and how do you overcome the obstacle? The hardest thing about writing for me is finding creative and unique ways to say things, especially when describing actions.
8. Other than "Snowed in with the Scrooge" , which of your books or series do you love the most and why? (Doesn't have to be an LCP book) I love my new Seaglass Beach series. It's spicy small-town romance and centers around the Montgomery family, with each member of the family getting their HEA. I love creating small towns and I think Seaglass Beach might be my fave! I'm a Florida girl, so I created a small beach town reminiscent of some of my fave spots in Florida, including 30A.
9. Would you encourage others to get into writing? If they love writing, sure! The romance community is warm and welcoming and I've made some great friends.
