Who is Last Chapter Press and what junk food do they like?

We are open! Both for business and for questions! Get to know Julie, Kristin, and Sandra!

But we’ll start the ball rolling to let you know who we are and what we’re doing, what’s up with Last Chapter Press, and some fascinating facts about the owners.

First, who are we?

Last Chapter Press is a women-owned, romance-centered publishing house. Our first imprint—which is just a fancy way of saying genre of books—we’re going to be publishing is Steamy Romance.

Why did we choose Steamy Romance? Because that’s what two of the owners write!

A little bit about the owners and then I’m going to ask them some questions to get to know them more…

Julie Stamps is in charge of acquisitions from authors. She’s the one who will read the stories that are submitted because Julie loves—and we mean has a passion to her very soul—romance stories. She was a voracious reader from her teenage years and all through her adult years. She published her first story in 2014. She was a 2018 RITA™ (now The Vivian™) finalist and she was a runner-up in the Audible/Cosmopolitan #SoundsHot Steamy Story Contest in 2019. Her most loved books of all time are old school—Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen and new school—Rule by Jay Crownover. Her favorite romance tropes are mountain man, geeks—probably inspired by the one she married, and the new grumpy/sunshine trend. She’s a sunshine herself but reading about grumpy people makes her want to spread more sunshine in the world.

Kristin Cox is the marketing manager. She’s in charge of the creative direction of all books and series, promotions, social media, and advertisements for Last Chapter Press. Kristin loves creating eye catching and engaging marketing materials to show readers exactly what they’re getting in a story and catching Julie singing to herself, so be sure to watch for those videos coming soon. There are no veils on what we’re offering and what you see is what you get.

Kristin is a best-selling author in short romance categories under the pen name of Lana Dash and has over 100 stories under her impressive belt. She loves spending time with her family and consuming extreme amounts of caffeine. Her favorite book of all time is old school—Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë and new school—Sweet Tea & Sympathy by Molly Harper. Her favorite romance tropes are enemies to lovers, fake romance, second chances.

Sandra Falk is the publishing and graphics guru. She’s going to be working hard behind the scenes applying the finishing touches on a lot of what we do here at Last Chapter Press. She loves to write, leaning more toward the paranormal genres, so look for that to be an imprint in the future (but you didn’t hear that from me, wink-wink). Sandra loves spending time with her doggo, a Boston Terrier who rules the roost. Sandra’s favorite old school book is Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen (see a trend here and why they’re all friends? 😉 ) and new school—Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Mass. Her favorite romance tropes are marriage of convenience, billionaire, and fallen angel paranormal.

Now, for some fun questions:

What’s your favorite food?

Julie enjoys anything pasta. Kristin loves tacos. And Sandra loves Thai food.

What’s your favorite flower?

Julie is a fan of daisies. And Sandra is a daisy fan, too. Kristin likes lilacs.

What’s your favorite season and holiday?

Kristin and Julie love fall and Christmas alike. And Sandra is a fan of spring and Halloween.

Do you have a favorite junk or fast food?

Sandra loves ice cream, Kristin loves movie theater popcorn, and Julie loves anything gummy from Sour Patch Kids to Australian licorice.

Tell me one thing no one knows about you…

Kristin says, “I can’t because if I told you then it wouldn’t be a secret.” Booooo! She’s no fun. 😉

Julie says, “I love pistachio pudding—the green gooey stuff—but I dislike actual pistachio nuts.”

Sandra says, “I’m a collector of skeleton keys and tiny clocks.” ←That’s really cool, right?!

What place in the world would you like to visit?

Sandra wants to visit New Zealand. Kristin wants to visit Scotland. And Julie wants to go to Tahiti.

Answer these quickly without thinking:

Mountains or beach? Julie and Sandra said mountains, Kristin said beach.

Texting or talking? Julie said she’d take texting any day, and Kristin and Sandra said they’d rather be talking.

Cake or pie? Kristin and Sandra said cake, and Julie said pie is tastier.

Dark chocolate or milk chocolate? Kristin and Julie said dark chocolate is their fav, and Sandra likes milk chocolate better.

Sounds like a perfect balance of likes and dislikes!

Who was your first celebrity crush?

Sandra said JTT, and Julie had to look up who that is. The one and only Jonathan Taylor Thomas. Kristin said John Cusack. And Julie said Shawn Cassidy—and that tells you something about her age because most of you won’t even know who that is.

And finally, what or who inspires you?

Kristin is inspired by long walks on the beach, tiny purse puppies, and sunsets. Just kidding—she said music and eavesdropping on the people around her for ideas. That sounds more like it.

Sandra gets inspiration from traveling and a well-told story. Awww. And that’s why she’ll be great at making covers that catch a reader’s eye, she’s worldly and enjoys details.

And Julie derives inspiration from a beautiful multi-color sunset, a long drive, and reading great books. She’s the sappy one, if you couldn’t tell.

Which would you pick--mountains or beach? Texting or talking? Cake or pie? Dark chocolate or milk chocolate? Let us know in the comments !
